Interior Design for an International Pizzeria Chain
Motorino Asia: a recognisable and adaptable identity
Designing a restaurant chain requires a shared identity without turning each venue into a rigid reproduction of the previous one. The work for Motorino Pizzeria Napoletana Asia establishes a system of spatial, material and atmospheric principles capable of adapting to different locations.
Guest comfort forms the first principle. Acoustics, lighting and ergonomics are integrated from the outset to create calm and welcoming interiors. The use of natural materials reflects the quality and artisanal character associated with the restaurant’s food.
The wood-fired oven and cooking area remain visible from the dining room, making pizza preparation part of the customer experience. A vertical band of timber slats defines the threshold between kitchen and dining area while providing each restaurant with a recognisable geometry.
Checkerboard flooring, dark ceilings and perimeter bench seating act as recurring elements. In the central areas, a flexible table arrangement accommodates different groups and levels of occupancy. Rather than designing a single restaurant, the project defines a spatial language capable of maintaining Motorino’s identity as the brand expands.
