Contemporary Luxury Villa in Somosaguas (Pozuelo de Alarcón)
Exposed concrete and a double-height interior in a home open to the landscape and gardens
Exposed concrete defines the character of this contemporary villa in Somosaguas. Its presence gives mass, texture and continuity to an architecture that contrasts with the changing vegetation of the gardens and the openness of the main rooms towards the landscape.
The house is arranged over two floors connected by a central double-height space. This void organises vertical circulation and establishes visual relationships between the different levels, allowing the home to be perceived as a continuous whole.
The ground floor contains the living room, dining area and kitchen, conceived as generous spaces connected to the exterior. The upper floor accommodates the bedrooms and the more private areas of the house.
Rather than responding to a predetermined form, the building’s volume emerges from its internal organisation, orientation and the need to protect privacy. The solidity of the concrete is balanced by light and vegetation, resulting in a calm and timeless home.
