Interior Design and Renovation of a Residential Lobby in El Viso (Madrid)
Concept design for the renovation of the entrance and communal areas of an apartment building
The entrance to a building establishes the first relationship between its architecture, the street and domestic life. This concept proposal for a residential building in El Viso reconsiders the lobby as more than a circulation space: it becomes a threshold capable of expressing the character of the building and improving the everyday experience of its residents.
The intervention clarifies the route from the entrance to the vertical circulation, removing visual interference and creating a more legible spatial sequence. Lighting is integrated into the architecture to give depth to the surfaces, guide movement and establish a calm atmosphere from the moment of arrival.
A restrained palette of materials and finishes reinforces the residential character of the lobby. The proposal prioritises durable, low-maintenance solutions capable of remaining relevant over time, avoiding design elements that depend excessively on a particular trend.
The project understands the communal areas as an extension of the home: shared spaces in which representation, comfort and functionality must coexist naturally. The transformation gives the building a stronger identity through a precise and understated intervention shaped around the scale of its users.
